This morning, January 8th, at about 4:15 AM a resident reported hearing what sounded like two gunshots in the area of 1308 Bright Street, Hillside.

The complainant stated they heard two loud noises that sounded like gunshots and a vehicle speeding southbound on Bright Street. Hillside police responded immediately, but due to a delay in the reporting of the incident were unable to locate the vehicle. Two other residents stated hearing the same thing.

The incident has been turned over to the Hillside police detective bureau for further investigation. People with information regarding the incident are urged to contact the Hillside police detective bureau at 973-926-5800.
