A Clark man was killed in a one-car accident that occurred early Sunday morning on Route 22 in Hillside.

Brian Palacios, 29, of Clark, was travelling on Route 22 East when his 2000 Volkswagon Jetta left the roadway and struck a security barrier at Hillside Auto Imports, located about a half mile west of Newark. Several vehicles parked at the dealership were damaged in the accident, which occurred at 2:30 a.m. Palacios was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. There were no passengers in his car.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. Witnesses are asked to contact Hillside Police at 973-926-5800.
